A Jar Opener that actually works My Mom bought one of these, 65 years ago. My sister has it now; still working great. Over the years, I have tried and thrown out many openers that did not live up to their promise. I was delighted to see one in your online store. January 22, 2015
Well Made, but.. it doesn't work with the smaller plastic lids/caps (tried to open a 20 oz milk bottle without success). For metal lids, it works well and make the opening process much easier. And even though it is made in China, it appears to be well constructed of wood and metal. January 8, 2015
Glad to know a replacement is available I have a green-handled version of the original. I am in my 60's and this jar opener was ALWAYS in my family's utensil drawer as long as I can remember. (I always wondered if it came from Texas with my grandmother.) When we moved from Long Island to Vermont, of course it came with us. My husband and I would be lost without it. Do you have any information on the origins of this product? The original manufacturer? I would be very interested to know as I feel whomever first designed it must be an American original and probably has an interesting story. September 8, 2014
This jar opener does not work I tried this on smooth lids, ridged lids, small and large lids. No matter what I did, all the opener would do is slide around on the lid. I am back to releasing the air pressure by taking a can opener under the lid, and then twisting the lid by hand. August 4, 2014
I love this Since the arthritis in my hands began, I have hated trying to pry open jars. With this jar opener it is now so easy that I find myself buying things in jars just for the pleasure of opening them. July 8, 2014
Great Jar Opener!!! I read all of the reviews before buying this jar opener and I am not disappointed. This jar opener does exactly what it's advertised to do with very little effort required. I have a very difficult time opening jars of all sizes due to arthritis and fibromyalgia. This jar opener is a dream come true!! Thank you, Vermont Country Store for carrying such a useful item. For Those OLDER Hands I found out that as one gets older it seems that Bottle & Jar tops are getting harder to open. Not with this Jar Opener as I feel like I'm younger and saving my fingers. Good Job. May 12, 2014
jar opener We have not used it yet, but I am a little sad that it can come apart. Going into our older years here, dexterity may become a problem to put this back together. April 28, 2014
