Back in the day, oilcloth used to be made by coating heavier weight cotton with linseed oil, which slowly cracked and peeled with age. This method became obsolete with the advent of noncracking plastics. Sadly, what replaced oilcloth was flimsy plastic cloth. Borrowing a page from yesteryear, our heavy-duty oilcloth is still made with real fabric, so it has the weight and drape of real cloth, yet is guaranteed to last. The oilcloth’s laminated vinyl finish wipes clean and will never crack or peel. Cotton/PVC or polyester/PVC. Imported.

  • Oilcloth tablecloths are durable fabric with an easy wipe-clean finish
  • Oilcloth won't crack, peel, or stain
  • Heavy duty oilcloth tablecloths available in 5 sizes
  • 100% Guaranteed. Forever.

Protect your table from spills and splatters for years to come with our wipe-clean oilcloth tablecloths. They’re designed never to crack o peel.

The Real Deal We love the tablecloth. Before my husband retired, his business dealt in fabrics and custom built furniture. They would have requests to have fabric treated so it became oilcloth. He looked at my tablecloth and said it was a genuine oilcloth; not the cheap stuff you buy at the discount stores. It wipes clean so easily and really brightens up the kitchen. September 10, 2013
NOT the Tablecloth Pictured Several years ago I ordered this tablecloth in blue check. It was exactly as pictured. Recently it was damaged, so I ordered another one to replace it. What I received is not the same as the tablecloth I previously ordered (which looks exactly like the current photo on the product page). What I received was shiny, NOT heavy duty, flimsy, and bright blue (as opposed to the more subtle blue of my previous tablecloth). I am extremely disappointed and will be returning it. I expect more from Vermont Country Store. December 6, 2014
Great tablecloths I purchased 2 of the oilcloths for the changing seasons for my dining room table. I remember my mother & grandmother having them & how easy they were to clean/keep clean. I haven't used them as yet because of the holiday, but will very soon. Love the distinct colors. Thank you for the great item. November 28, 2014
My "go-to" tablecloth These tablecloths are a staple in my home. I love to keep a tablecloth on the table, but I have 3 children and fabric is just not practical. The oil cloth is perfect. It wipes clean instantly and withstands all kinds of abuse from toddlers and teenagers - very durable. As a bonus, it is available in seasonal prints - perfect for the table I set up the buffet on for holiday meals. November 11, 2014
Maybe This is certainly NOT your mother's oilcloth, nor should it be advertised as "genuine." It is cloth with an entirely separate layer of heavy transparent plastic serged onto the edges. While this does allow one to see the pattern under the plastic, it also allows the edges of the tablecloth to roll upward all the way around, making a handy receptacle for crumbs, pet hairs (I bought them specifically because I have cats who refuse to stay off the table.), dust and god knows what. It's nearly impossible to remove instead of simply wiping the table off as I had in mind (and as the original true oilcloth could be.) November 10, 2014
Tablecloth changed the look of my kitchen from vinyl to quality. I've been buying and replacing vinyl tablecloths with cloth backing since 1991 for one table. My husband is hard on them as he's handicapped and bears down extremely hard to lift himself up. My new flag tablecloth is fantastic! It's pretty, changed the look of my entire kitchen from just a tablecloth to quality. I wish you carried many more patterns. Home Care nurses have remarked on how pretty the flag tablecloth is and it picks up the colors of my blue and believe it or not pink heart wallpaper. I'm ready with my credit card! Bring on more patterns! September 14, 2014

Country nostalgia The table cloth is very nice. It's well made and very colorful. It seems to look a bit different than what I saw on the web page and fits the table a bit odd but I may have not have looked well enough at the description. The product is still really nice. It harkens me back to the 70's when I'd visit my country grand mother and get spoiled on her strawberry cake. May 5, 2014

What Our Customers Are Saying about Our Heavy Duty Oilcloth Tablecloths …

"After going through many less expensive plastic tablecloths, I finally bit the bullet and purchased two of these oilcloth tablecloths. I only wish I had done so sooner. They not only look good, but they have a nice, heavy weight to them. The table I use this on gets its fair share of use, and this tablecloth has held up to the job and still looks nice despite repeated washing, laptops being slid across the table, and everything else in between."-Sandra, Loganville, GA

"I had heard of oilcloth, but had no idea what it was until my mom bought me a Christmas print oilcloth tablecloth from The Vermont Country Store. Oh. My. Gosh! This tablecloth beats the heck out of the lousy vinyl junk I used to buy! As a mom of 5, I am not only sold on the quality of oilcloth, but also how easy it is to care for. Now that Christmas is over, I will be buying an everyday one...an Easter one...a 4th of July one...and certainly a birthday one! Very, very happy with this product."-Heather, Alameda, CA

"Love, love The Vermont Country Store's oil tablecloth. Have owned one for many years, never wears out. Ordering a new one due to color change in kitchen, and for some reason my cat started chewing on the ends of the tablecloth when wanting to get our attention....."-Kathy, Vienna, VA

"I ordered a bird oil cloth tablecloth about two months ago. I was excited because I wanted it for my picnic table on the deck. I left it outside and within a month it faded. Not, a happy camper." - Barbara Tracy, Culpeper, VA

"So far I've accummulated four of these and want more. They clean up with just a damp songe or cloth. They're hearty - don't tear or rip. Heat doesn't seem to bother them. The colors are lovely, and they don't fade. They're so durable I expect them to outlast me. It sure beats cloth that you have to wash, and the plastic ones that only last a short while. I searched everywhere for oilcloth tablecloths and couldn't find them anywhere else but here. Thank you, Vermont Country Store, for carrying these! " - Vicki, Knoxville, TN

"I am very, very happy with my Fruit tablecloth - it is 9 months old and looks new. On my kitchen table taking abuse daily, it cleans easily, has tolerated an occasional brush with hot pans and is performing as I had hoped. Does not stain either. Getting my mother one for her 90th birthday." - Bonnie , Durham, ME

"I was tired of constantly replacing my cheaply made plastic tablecloths. I remember the heavy oil cloth table cloths of my childhood and wanted to find something that would fit the bill. I had difficulty finding what I wanted until I ran across these tablecloths here online at The Vermont Country Store. They are a very heavy duty. They have a cloth backing with a glossy, heavy duty laminated finish. It just cleans up with a damp cloth. Even though these are a bit on the expensive side, it looks like they will last for years. I got the floral and plan to get more to match the seasons. " - Jannett, Rio Rancho, NM
