Plastic, not metal
Service excellent as usual. I was hoping the end "catches" would be metal as the plastic is difficult to get to hold tightly. With the underside raised portion being plastic/rubber too, the plastic open catch frequently is not sturdy enough to hold. I ordered them hoping for the best as these little straps are difficult to find.

They really solve the problem
These really do the trick! They hold either sheets or mattress pads so they don't slip off. Of course, Vermont Country Store would have them!
