Our Silk-Filled Comforter, Year-Round Warmth Without the Weight

$89.95 - $119.95 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Pin it on Pinterest Share on Google+

Silk is considered one of the lightest natural fibers, yet it’s an excellent insulator so it keeps you warm in cold conditions and cool when it’s warm. And for those prone to night sweats, silk can absorb and dissipate up to 30% of its weight in moisture thereby helping to keep you dry. This silk-filled comforter has a sumptuously soft 100% cotton sateen cover with a 280-thread count, box stitching, and satin piping. Dry clean. Imported.

  • Silk-filled comforter eliminates the need for lots of extra blankets
  • Box-stitching keeps silk filling from shifting
  • Comforter has a 280-thread-count cotton sateen cover
  • Finished with satin piping

Get a good night’s sleep when you shop for bedding at The Vermont Country Store. Our silk-filled comforter keeps you warm on cold nights yet won’t smother you on warm nights.

Yes, not light weight Not light weight (like a polyester fill) but not heavy, either. Seems to be probably layers of fabric inside, sewn so that there's no shifting. Doesn't bunch up or heat up (not to "toasty") but retains heat over the night. I have it in a duvet so the cover fabric is not an issue. October 21, 2013
Not heavy - cool in summer, but warm in cooler weather We love this so much I'll buy another for our guest room. We used this all summer - and right into October. The silk filler makes it a warm cover, but not heavy on the feet. A great purchase. October 18, 2013
Silk Comforter Disappoints When I read the promotional material about the silk-filled comforter I assumed it was silk on the outside as well as the inside. I pictured something smooth and fluffy. When it arrived I was disappointed to learn the comforter is covered in a not too smooth cotton material. Not at all what I envisioned. The cotton covering also makes it heavy. I am returning it. A good night's sleep I purchased the silk comforter a little over a month ago. (I also took the advice of one of the other writers and separately purhcased a cotton duvet cover elsewhere to protect the comforter.) It provides a lightweight and comfortable level of warmth since the silk fibers are natural and breathe. You feel warm enough, but not hot. You do not get clammy as you would sleeping under a down alternative comforter. This was a terrific purchase, and would make a great gift for someone who is hard to buy for. July 5, 2013
Best $107.00 I've ever spent! Lives up to the printed copy appearing in the catalog. Fine merchandise; well worth price charged. Very satisfied with purchase. June 28, 2013
Comfy, cozy, yet not too warm! This silk filled blanket is the perfect weight for spring or summer. I like it because it keeps my feet and legs warm, while my upper body is cooler. It's lightweight so you don't feel like you have a heavy blanket on top of you. I really like it, and would recommend it to anyone. June 6, 2013
Soft Dreams I tried several quilts and summer blankets but was disappointed in heaviness or bulkiness. This coverlet is lovely, soft, perfect-for-summer-weather that we have been experiencing already, in late May, in the Mid-Atlantic states. "Lovely" becuse it is made beautifully and simply with a fine fabric and edged in matching satin creating an elegant but quitely refined look on the bed. And the weight is really un-weight. Just enough to let you know a bit of warm is spread over you as you sleep comforatbly through the summer nights. Thank you for creating a well-designed, pretty, functional comforter. June 4, 2013
Best comforter for the price! Super warm, yet light weight, which I love! It is too hot for me during warm weather because I'm a hot body. But can't wait for the cold weather! June 1, 2013
