We didn't believe it until we tried it, but it's true: You can have a fabric shower curtain and a dry bathroom floor, too! Switching to an all-cotton shower curtain also means that you can get rid of that annoying plastic liner that clings to your legs and cuts the room in your shower in half. This beefy shower curtain accomplishes these tasks because it's made of 10-ounce cotton duck fabric, which has a tight weave and plenty of heft to ensure water won't seep through.

  • 100% cotton shower curtain
  • Rustproof metal grommets won't tear out
  • Machine wash and hang to dry to remove any wrinkles
  • Available in 65" X 72" bathtub shower or 38" X 72" shower stall sizes
  • Made in Vermont

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lovely but shrinks The fabric is heavy and keeps water in the shower stall. When it arrived, the curtain was too long for the stall, and rather than raise the spring rod (which I should have done), my landlady and I cut it to the proper length and hemmed it. When I took the first shower and got the curtain wet, it shrunk in length an inch or so, just enough to make it too short. I wish I had known that it would shrink when it got wet so I could have taken that into account. Now I have to find some way to lower it, and the spring rod is sitting on top of a ledge so can't be lowered easily. Besides the shrinkage it is a very good item. I would recommend it with the caveat about adjusting it before it gets soaked the first time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No more plastic curtains I have used canvas shower curtains for years. I don't see any reason to have those plastic ones that smell so awful and blow all over the place. These canvas curtains keep the water in the shower, off the floor, and can be tossed in the wash with the towels to keep them fresh and clean. I really love that they are made in Vermont.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Goodbye To That Old Plastic Shower Liner!!!! When it finally cooled off enough to open up my house for some fresh autumn breezes, I was really noticing the wind was constantly aiming that cold plastic shower liner at me while bathing. I remembered seeing the Cotton Duck Shower Curtain in your catalog and decided to go for it. I loved it immediately, made the shower feel cozier and warmer than before. The fabric dries quickly. I washed it initially in cold water and just hung it on the shower rod. The minimal wrinkles disappeared from the steam of the first couple of showers. Love this item!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love this shower curtain, BUT.... I love "pillow ticking" fabric and was delighted to find this shower curtain in The Vermont Country Store Catalog. I ordered it immediately for the shower in my newly remodeled bathroom. I continued to be delighted with this shower curtain upon its was just as I imagined. I held it up to my shower opening and it was at least 7-8 inches too long for what I needed. I had read the washing/drying directions and had read "hang to dry". Even though these were the directions I thought I could dry it (briefly) in the dryer on low heat to take up some of the length. I WAS WRONG! Do NOT DRY THIS IN THE DRYER!! It shrunk in length waaaaay more than I needed. However, I was able to salvage my beloved shower curtain...I ironed it, while still a little damp, and stretched it maybe one whole inch in length...then I was able to extend the length using the shower ring attachments and lowering the curtain rod so the curtain now hangs below the shower floor pan and keeps the water where it belongs. I am still very happy with this shower curtain but could have saved myself some anxious moments and extra hassle if I had followed the drying directions. I think these directions should say "HANG TO DRY...AND WE REALLY MEAN IT!" It seems counterintuitive to have a fabric shower curtain, which is intended to get wet, shrink...but believe me when I say, " It does!! "

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Despite claims to the contrary, it shrinks I was hesitant to order the curtain given the reviews that said it shrunk upon washing. However, VCS stated that the problem had been remedied at the factory and indeed, a sticker on the packaging of my curtain confirmed this. However, it still shrunk, a lot. It is over four inches shorter than the last curtain I had, which meant that I had to lower my curtain rod (which thankfully was adjustable). However, now I bonk my head every time I get in or out of the shower. It also gets instantly saturated with water and takes almost 24 hours to dry, even in my well ventilated bathroom with a heated floor. I think my best option is to go back to a cheap vinyl curtain for the inside of the shower and use the VCS cotton curtain as a very overpriced decorative curtain on the outside so I can lift my curtain rod back up to the appropriate height. Disappointed for sure. Just add four inches of material and the problem is solved....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very nice, despite shrinkage I can understand the complaints about this shower curtain being useless after it shrinks - I have an extra deep soaking tub, and it works fine, but if the old 14" tub was still in place, I'd be lowering the curtain rod. The shrinkage seems to mostly affect the length, as the width is still fine to keep water where I want it. Other than that, it is bright white, keeps water where it belongs, and does not give me a hug with every shower, which is why I bought it - my tub enclosure seems a lot larger now. It does need to be spread out (drawn?) so the fabric dries, so far, no stains or mildew, and it is easy to wash. Thanks!
