Customer Suggested Product

Just like the subs found in cereal boxes in the 1950s, this classic toy is powered by baking powder. It submerges and resurfaces on its own as if it were a real miniature working submarine. Fill with baking powder (baking powder not included), shake vigorously under water a few times, and let the fun begin. Plastic. 4½" long. Ages 5 and up.

  • The perfect toy for the bathtub or pool
  • Makes a great stocking stuffer
  • Easy to set up; fun to watch

Perfect toy for 10+ year old boys This is the same toy diving sub I bought for my now 51 year old son. I bought this one for my 12 year old grandson who is loving it just as much. He saw it in your catalog and asked for it for Christmas after you were all sold out. He now has it and is very happy, his cousin has the other one and she is just as happy. January 21, 2015
Big kids love them too. I bought these for the "Big Kid" in the house and your sales person suggested to get the Navy Frogmen too. Since the "Big Guy" was former Navy I said sure. They were a big hit too. He only wished we had a swimming pool or 50 galon tank to use them in. Too funny for words. January 18, 2014
A cool little toy but doesn't really go up and down My three year old loves to play with it but it doesn't seem to do anything when the baking soda is added December 30, 2013
Childhood Memories I purchased this item for my 66 year-old brother. When he was a boy he had a similar sub that he obtained by sending in boxtops. I think they were cereal boxtops. What a great way to bring back childhood fun memories! January 12, 2013
Subs for my 4 yr old Grandson! As always, Vermont Country Store came through with yet another 'blast from the past'! My brothers and my husband all had these when they were little, and my Grandson thinks they are 'awesome'! Thanks! You are an amazing company! January 1, 2013
Boy's childhood memories. I bought these for my husband. He kept commenting on these toys that he had growing up. When I saw them I had to get them for Christmas. December 12, 2012
Nice stocking stuffer Just a unique toy from the past to stuff a stocking with. December 9, 2012
Military Brats and the Sub In the 1950's we were stationed all over the place and I remember when we were in Naples, Italy with a big naval port someone gave our family 2 of these subs. The bathtub stayed so busy and we soon ran out of baking soda which finally gave Mom some relief from all the fussing about whose turn it was to play with them. There were 6 kids at the time so it could get loud. The subs never failed, as long as you had baking soda, you were good to go. Good memories. November 18, 2012
