Some people knew them as Garibaldis, others simply as raisin biscuits, but whatever you called these long, flat cookie bars, they surely have been missed since they disappeared from supermarket shelves. Crisp in texture, each not-too-sweet biscuit has a hefty helping of dried currants baked right in, which adds that familiar fruity tartness to every bite. And since a single biscuit measures about 7¼"x 2¾", it's perforated so you can divide it into five easy-to-eat sections. Garibaldi biscuits are the perfect complement to tea, coffee, or ice-cold milk. Each 3.5 oz. package contains 2 long Garibaldi biscuits.

  • A hefty helping of dried currants is baked right in
  • Each package contains 2 biscuits
  • Each biscuit can be broken into 5 easy-to-eat sections
  • Set of 5 packages

Find old-fashioned treats that are still as tasty and wholesome as always at The Vermont Country Store. Garibaldi Biscuits are a perfect complement to tea, coffee, or ice-cold milk.

What Does A Memory Taste Like? When the new Orton Catalog arrived this time and I looked through it, that did it. I was determined to not just look at the raisin bars, I was going to order! When they arrived all the way from the East Coast I just stared at them for awhile trying to remember. Finally I unwrapped a bar and bit in. The memory had become a living experience and a delicious one, too! Thinking back about 75 or 80 years became instantly possible.. Thanks for stocking Garibaldi biscuits! June 26, 2013
Grandmas house My Grandma always had these biscuits. I think the packaging and maybe the company is different. Anyways, opening the package and smelling then tasting them , I was transformed to the lower east side of Detroit and my Grand Parents house. Grandama always made fresh tea and more often then not, we had these. I'm 60 now but stepped into the way back machine and had some tea and biscuits sitting at Grandmas kitchen table ! Thank VCS !!! Like the old days Remember these from many, many years ago. A fond memory. December 6, 2014
Christmas at Grandmothers House My Grandmother ( We called her Dear ) always had bowls of Christmas goodies placed strategically all over her 4 story house. And little goodies at our places at the table. Years later my sisters ( I have 6 ) and I started talking about the yummy flat biscuit cookies we always had at Dear's house. We called them squashed fly biscuits then. My dad every, year bought us Lanz flannel nightgowns from Vermont Country so I started looking there and found the Garibaldi Biscuits. I ordered them for stocking stuffers for my sisters and they were thrilled. They taste as good now as then. I was born in 1946 along with Vermont Country and I still love them just as much. Finally Tried These! Have always wanted to try these biscuits! So glad I finally did! The currants offer a nice tang to the crispy cookie cracker! Great for my afternoon coffee break! I am sure I will come back for more! September 22, 2014
We've been looking for these We had these growing up in Upstate NY and thought they were just going to be a memory until we saw them for sale at the Vermont Country Store. Thank you!! August 5, 2014
Brings back very fond memories While I absolutely loved these biscuits, the one major drawback is the packaging. Upon receipt, you need to tape the back seal; for it often breaks open. June 18, 2014
My favorite cookie memory...... The only cookies I had as a child were Nabisco's Fig Newtons and Graham Crackers and the Sunshine Biscuit Co's Raisin Biscuits. These little crispy, lightly sweetened, thin, dry little crackers with a brushed egg white gloss layered with raisin jam were my favorite. Not salty or fat but naturally raisin sweet. I loved them. I just signed up with VCS today. I received a welcome email, clicked to shop and what did I see???? These jewels are my very first online order. Thank you for having these. I am thrilled.....and cannot wait to open the package and pull them apart and travel back to childhood for a moment....... June 15, 2014
