The caramelized vidalia onions made an excellent soup plus an excellent topping on steaks and hamburgers. I would rate it a 5 star if it only was not so expensive.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by "B" A great tasting soup
I tried this soup for the first time and fell in love with it. I only wished the jar was larger. I served the soup at a dinner party and realized too late that everyone would it so I ran out and of course my guests were disappointed.
A really nice product for one or many!!!!

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Mill Valley Mom Almost perfect
I buy this soup for my husband who adores French Onion Soup. He thinks it needs more onion, so he just slices some, sautés it and throws it in with the rest of the soup. Other than that, it's perfect!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Ninjamom Great for semi-homemade onion soup
I love French Onion soup, but hate to make it from scratch or have to go out to eat it, because we live in the country and restaurants are normally a long drive away. This is the perfect compromise.
You can thin the soup with as much chicken broth or even just water as you like, and either eat it as is, or put it in an oven-proof bowl for the full treatment. I cook the soup in a saucepan first, and make sure I like the doneness of the onions and the amount of dilution. Then I pour it in the oven-proof bowl and put it in the oven. Depending on what I have available, I either cube stale French bread and toss it on top of the soup as is, or fry up some cubed fresh bread with a little olive oil and butter in a frying pan, and then toss it on top of the soup. Next, I rough-grate some cheese on top (fresh-grated or pre-grated parmesan works if that's all I have, but I prefer a Gruyere or other high-alpine cheese). I leave the soup in the oven until the cheese has melted. (Make sure you keep watch if you do it this way.)
The soup is perfect for one or two people, because you can just take a part of a jar and keep the rest in the refrigerator for another day.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Robinki Ordered again!!
We loved this so much that we ordered 2 more jars to have ready and waiting in our pantry, though I doubt they'll be there long. With some gruyere and bread bubbling on top, it is delicious!!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5Â by KLP Did Not Like At All
I purchased this soup based on the extremely positive review and was very disappointed.
If you are looking for French Onion Soup that taste like the French Onion Soup served in most restaurants, DO NOT BUY this product.
It has a spicy taste that taste nothing like traditional French Onion Soup. I have had canned French Onion Soup that taste more like restaurant French Onion Soup, particularly if you add cheese and croutons.
I did not like this product at all and could not finish more than a couple of spoonfuls. As such, I would never buy this product again and would not recommend this product to a friend.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by IndianaMom Better than restaurant
I purchased the French onion soup for my supervisor and me for Christmas. I had to make it for my husband and me to taste test before I gave it to her.
This is the best French onion soup I ever tasted. The hard work is done, you just have to add the toppings. Add as much cheese or bread that you want.
You have nothing to lose by trying it. Quality product at an affordable price.
