Back to my childhood One of the best childhood memory treats was Mother slicing the date nut bread from the can and spreading with creme cheese on it. When I found that Vermont Country Store had it and it tasted just as I remembered, I told friends and purchased several cans to give for birthday presents to those friends who had the same memory. Was Tempted To Slice and Eat The Whole Loaf!! A few months ago,I ordered 4 cans of the B & M Brown Bread With Raisins and have one can left! I have loved that,since I was a young boy. So good,with Creamed Cheese and with B & M Beans! Then,I saw that you have another hard to get favorite of mine,Date Nut Bread! I ordered 2 cans of it and one has vanished,already! sad bread in a can We used to relish the date nut bread from the bakery but stores these days do not seem to carry it. We were excited to see it in this catalog (but, bread in a can??), but we thought we'd give it a try. It was VERY disappointing - the bread was light and kind of bland, where real date nut bread is dense and moist. We couldn't find a walnut, maybe a couple of tiny pieces of walnut were in there somewhere. As for the dates, we think there were a couple of those, too. March 26, 2013

THIS PRODUCT HAS BEEN HARD TO FIND FOR YEARS EVERY CHRISTMAS WE USE TO MAKE A SNACK OF DATE NUT BREAD AND PHILADELPHIA CREAM CHEESE. IN RECENT YEARS WE COULD NO LONGER FIND IT IN OUR LOCAL (SMALL AND MAJOR) STORES. WE TRULY APPRECIATE THE ITEMS YOU OFFER MANY OF WHICH ARE ITEMS WE BOUGHT YEARS AGO AND NO LONGER CAN FIND. A treat fondly remembered I remember being so disappointed when I couldn't finded date nut bread in a can at the grocery anymore. I loved that stuff. My mom would buy it for a special treat once in awhile. So I had to buy it when I saw it in the catalog. When I tried it I was taked back in time when the grocery store didn't overwhelm you with the size and the amount of decisions you had to make. When life was a little less stressful. I bought a few for gifts only to find out my mother saw them also and bought it and we ended up exchanging cans as part of our goodie gifts to each other January 1, 2013
