Incredible Taste! I ordered a dozen of these doughnuts just to try them out and immediately ordered another dozen. The taste is wonderful and they last very well in the freezer. They come in a box of 12 and are very fresh. I highly recommend them - great with morning tea or coffee! October 18, 2013
Not quite what I was expecting I hate to be the one to have to say this but I was disappointed with my order of these donuts. I was hoping for something better than my local donut shop around the corner. first off, I will say the donuts were not bad at all just not up to par as advertised. The picture of the donuts interior you see here is not actually what they look like inside. You see more of a cake like spicy brown interior but in fact the interior is that of a typical plain donut and tastes like a plain donut. I've had donuts in the past that looked like what is advertised in the picture of these donuts and they have tasted extremely delicious. You know, that old fashioned cinnamon flavor all the way through the donut and that fluffy cake like texture which gave them that extra special kick. The donuts I got delivered to me in my order, were a far cry from that. So, if you are expecting the donuts to look and taste like what is perceived from the picture of these donuts, you might be disappointed like I am or you might not be disappointed. To each his own opinion. Someone may have changed the original recipe but I can't say for sure about that because this is the first time I've ordered from this company. I'll eat the donuts but will not order them again. December 10, 2014
Very nice flavor The doughnuts were very good and had a nice flavor. The spices enhanced the cider flavor. The first one I had was at room temperature, which was pretty good. The following day, I warmed a doughnut up in the microwave for about 10 seconds, the cider flavor became more pronounced and even yummier! These doughnuts are awesome with a tall glass of milk, hot tea or a steaming cup of coffee. September 26, 2014
Delicious!! These delicious treats are very much like the ones my mom used to make when I was a kid. Moist, flavorful, comfort food - especially when slightly heated. Although the price was a little high for donuts, we will definitely reorder them again. February 5, 2014
Cross country delightful donuts My story begins one day as I was searching around your site for delicious maple candy, butter and syrup for Christmas presents. I stumbled upon the page which described "fresh to your door" cider donuts. A childhood memory bubbled in my mind and I was back at the sugar shack in Wellesley Ma , the cold still hung in the air from winter, the sun was shining and the maple was running and we gathered around for fresh cider donuts. As my mind returned to the page, my cursor hovering over the "add to cart" button, I thought, "how fresh would it arrive across the country?" The answer: deliciously, delectably, lick your fingers fresh. Thank you Vermont country store for giving me another Christmas tradition! December 30, 2013
Tasty but full of trans fat The Vermont Country Store states clearly on their website that these have trans fats so I can't really fault them for my failure to check. That being said, I didn't think to look, so other buyer be warned. Not only are there trans fat, but there are relatively large quantities--4.5 grams per donut! Given what is known about trans fat, I cannot recommend these to anyone. I know you can't expect donuts to be healthy, but trans fats are really on a different level for me. Ignoring that major issue, these are pretty tasty. (I tried one before looking at the nutrition facts.) They arrived quickly and after heating it up it tasted really good. If it weren't for the health issues, I would definitely repurchase them. December 6, 2013
Finally! a real cider donut When our oldest granddaughter was a baby,we would visit in Delaware in the fall. A highlight was a trip to a farm with huge pigs, many, many pumpkins & very delicious cider donuts! While she crawled over the pumpkin mountain, guess what we did? Cider donuts! The pictures and descriptions in your catalog brought that delicious memory flooding back each time I looked at the catalog. Couldn't resist and since it was my birthday, I indulged in a real treat. $2.00 a piece for a donut??? It was worth every penny & one's still hidden away in the freezer for a special morning and a special cup of coffee! Thanks for bringing them back. November 19, 2013
Wonderful! We enjoyed everything. Thank you for your excellent service. The cider doughnuts were soooo good! And the maple candy was just like I remember when we were kids. Thank you. November 16, 2013
