Maple Sampler (Box of Four 1.7 oz. Bottles)

Find Your Favorite Flavor With Our Traditional Vermont Maple Syrup Grading Sampler

Since the best grade of maple syrup is the one you like best, we thought you might like to do a side-by-side taste test, just like the master sugarmakers do when they grade each batch of syrup. From light to dark, each bottle in this replica of a traditional Vermont grading sample kit contains one of 4 grades of 100% pure Vermont maple syrup, ranging from Vermont Fancy (also known as Grade A Light Amber), to Grade A Medium Amber, Grade A Dark Amber, and Grade B, a true Vermonter’s favorite with its hearty maple flavor and deep molasses color.

Early season sap produces the lightest, most delicately flavored syrup, while darker, more richly flavored syrup is produced when temperatures rise toward the end of the spring “sugaring” season. It’s important to note that grades do not indicate quality; instead, they denote color and taste differences.

Whichever grade you prefer, you can enjoy 100% pure Vermont Maple Syrup with the sweet satisfaction in knowing that it’s one of the few foods indigenous to North America, and that it’s naturally free of additives, preservatives, artificial colors, and high fructose corn syrup. 4 1.7 oz. bottles.

  • Vermont Fancy or Grade A Light Amber has a delightful mild maple flavor
  • Grade A Medium Amber is known for its classic maple flavor and amber color
  • Grade A Dark Amber has a hearty maple flavor and deep amber color
  • Grade B has the richest, most robust maple flavor and deepest amber color

The Vermont Country Store takes pride in our selection of 100% pure Vermont maple syrup. One taste and you’ll see why so many Vermonters prefer maple syrup as their sweetener of choice, pouring it over pancakes, mixing it into muffins, and whisking it in dressing and sauces. Take the sample challenge and decide which flavor makes the grade for your taste buds.

Great gift! I have bought this twice as a gift, hoping each time to learn the recipient's preference in maple syrup for future gifting. My brother-in-law, who grew up in New England but has lived most of his life far away from there, especially loved it. My son said he would sometimes go to the cupboard and just take a swig or two, to be sure he was finding the one he liked best! I was interested to learn both men prefer the darker Grade B! nice gift bringing this item to Germany as a gift to family. wish the glass bottles had a tiny bit of padding (like cardboard or tissue paper) in between, so they don't clink, and there are less changes of breaking during transport. December 10, 2012
unique gift item bought this for my sister for Xmas and she really liked it Have one for myself, too! December 8, 2012
So delicious I can't get enough of it. The Maple Sampler box is wonderful....and so is the customer service. I ordered two boxes, one for a friend and one for myself. One box arrived with a broken bottle. The Vermont Country Store dispatched another immediately. I LOVE this sampler box and I'm determining my favorite so I can by more! I highly recommend it as a gift or for a gourmet sampler for yourself. December 5, 2012
Extra credit for school! My son came home from school one day and told me how he was studying the New England states. His teacher had visited multiple states in the northeast previously and returned with Vermont maple syrup. To have a little fun with the kids, he brought in all types of syrup and had them taste test them with crackers. The kids had a blast and each had their own favorite. After that, my son insisted I order the syrup. Once it arrived, he had our family sit down as he prepared a taste test just as he had done in class. We all enjoyed each kind but each had a different favorite. It was so great to see my son excited about something he had learned in school! Thank you! December 4, 2012
Grade B The best and most flavorable syrup is Grade B. Been using this type of syrup for over 50 years! September 24, 2012
Maple Syrup Goes to Ireland I traveled to Ireland in June with my husband and 15 year old granddaughter. We had hired the same driver for eleven days. At the end of the tour, we presented him with the Maple Sampler, as a taste of New England. He was very pleased and appreciated our thoughtfulness. September 24, 2012
Christmas Breakfast I am planning to give a set of the syrups to several friends, along with a box of pancake mix. My attached note will say something to the effect of, "We hope that this will help you to create a delicious breakfast on Christmas morning!!!" September 24, 2012
