Some people knew them as Garibaldis, others simply as raisin biscuits, but whatever you called these long, flat cookie bars, they surely have been missed since they disappeared from supermarket shelves. Crisp in texture, each not-too-sweet biscuit has a hefty helping of dried currants baked right in, which adds that familiar fruity tartness to every bite. And since a single biscuit measures about 7¼"x 2¾", it's perforated so you can divide it into five easy-to-eat sections. Garibaldi biscuits are the perfect complement to tea, coffee, or ice-cold milk. Each 3.5 oz. package contains 2 long Garibaldi biscuits.

  • A hefty helping of dried currants is baked right in
  • Each package contains 2 biscuits
  • Each biscuit can be broken into 5 easy-to-eat sections
  • Set of 5 packages

Find old-fashioned treats that are still as tasty and wholesome as always at The Vermont Country Store. Garibaldi Biscuits are a perfect complement to tea, coffee, or ice-cold milk.

Brings back Yummy memories When I was a kid these were my favorite cookies. I used to call them raisin cookies. My son and his kids always look for them when they're here. I feel that they are healthier because they have fruit and aren't too sugary so I like to keep them on hand. February 16, 2015
Just like they used to be. These were my favorite cookies when I was growing up in the fifties and sixties.Still loved them while raising my family but wasn't able to find them in the last fifteen to twenty years. These are exactly as they used to be,still just as wonderful. February 16, 2015
Forgot about these cookies! Saw the advertisement in the magazine "Reminisce" for The Vermont Country Store for these cookies and placed order! They are great!!!!!!! January 21, 2015

Almost as Good as Nabisco Raisin Bars (which are now nowhere to be found) A long time fan of Nabisco Raisin Bars I found these at the Vermont Country Store and ordered them to be sent to Florida for our Holiday Trip. They arrived, but somehow got lost at the building. After a diligent search and no clue what happened I reordered them. (The building management reimbursed me for my loss). The anticipation was great, as they arrived, I poured a cold glass of milk (good for dipping and sipping) and enjoyed an entire package of the cookies. They were close to the ones I know (but missing the crispy crust, but still good enough to eat. Thanks Vermont Country Store. January 21, 2015
Very Tasty! I had been eyeing these amazing biscuits on the VCS website for some time, and am happy to say I finally ordered some. They are light with just the perfect amount of sweetness- a nostalgic taste of the past with the great quality you expect from the Orton family! January 12, 2015
Crunch, chew, taste, yum! I didn't have these cookies often as a kid, but I distinctly recall how very much I liked them. When I saw them offered by VCS, I couldn't resist. They are superb: a bit of a crunch, then chewy delight with mixed flavors of cookie and currants. Yes, like others I wish there were more packets for the price, but the price is worth it, especially as I've seen them offered nowhere else. January 8, 2015
Cookies of Health My Irish mother had a stroke in September. In one brief instant her entire life changed. She had been independent, in control, and perfectly in charge of being a great mother, grandmother, and friend. Of course, that always included offering her guests a cup of tea and a few cookies, which were onmipresent in one form or another. But in the blink of an eye, everything changed. When the dust settled, she became a permanent resident of a nursing facility - a lovely, caring, and excellent place, but her independence was gone, and her world, as she knew it, was going to have to be redefined. For Christmas I turned to the Vermont Country Store catalogue to look for small things that would bring her a little comfort, and I knew I couldn't go wrong with the Garibaldi Biscuits that had always been her absolute favorites. She didn't have them often -- just when I remembered to send them for special occasions, so I knew she'd be happy to see them arrive for Christmas. But I couldn't have guessed how MUCH it meant to her to have (many) packages of these biscuits tucked away where she could offer them to all her visiting guests -- just like before the stroke -- and all the guests LOVED them, and that little bit of "normal" was wonderful for all involved. Now her birthday is coming up, and I'm going to put in my order for another batch. Now she's got a reputation to maintain. :) Thanks! January 8, 2015
