Reminiscent of the 1800s, when most of Vermont’s maple syrup was preserved in rectangle-shaped blocks, this maple sugar block is made by simmering pure maple syrup past the syrup stage to evaporate even more moisture. The highly concentrated thickened “syrup” is then poured into molds and allowed to set. This portable chunk of pure Vermont sweetness adds rich maple flavor when grated over oatmeal, sliced apples, ice cream, or buttered toast. Pair with our handy stainless steel grater (#56843). 8 oz. block.

  • 100% pure Vermont maple syrup
  • Concentrated maple flavor
  • Grates easily over oatmeal, ice cream, and toast

The Vermont Country Store takes pride in our selection of 100% pure Vermont maple syrup, including our old-fashioned Maple Sugar Block.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great maple flavor Product is VERY hard, but worth the patience to pare off little pieces. February 19, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love this candy I have been a fancier of hard maple sugar since I was a child. I would receive a 1 lb bar as a present at Christmas. Then we moved to Europe and my aunt would send me some on rare occasions. Now I can buy my own, but it is difficult to find. Thank you Vermont Country store for carrying it now. I just hit the end with a good whack from a hammer, break a piece off, and enjoy. January 12, 2016
