Some people knew them as Garibaldis, others simply as raisin biscuits, but whatever you called these long, flat cookie bars, they surely have been missed since they disappeared from supermarket shelves. Crisp in texture, each not-too-sweet biscuit has a hefty helping of dried currants baked right in, which adds that familiar fruity tartness to every bite. And since a single biscuit measures about 7¼"x 2¾", it's perforated so you can divide it into five easy-to-eat sections. Garibaldi biscuits are the perfect complement to tea, coffee, or ice-cold milk. Each 3.5 oz. package contains 2 long Garibaldi biscuits.

  • A hefty helping of dried currants is baked right in
  • Each package contains 2 biscuits
  • Each biscuit can be broken into 5 easy-to-eat sections
  • Set of 5 packages

Find old-fashioned treats that are still as tasty and wholesome as always at The Vermont Country Store. Garibaldi Biscuits are a perfect complement to tea, coffee, or ice-cold milk.

What Does A Memory Taste Like? When the new Orton Catalog arrived this time and I looked through it, that did it. I was determined to not just look at the raisin bars, I was going to order! When they arrived all the way from the East Coast I just stared at them for awhile trying to remember. Finally I unwrapped a bar and bit in. The memory had become a living experience and a delicious one, too! Thinking back about 75 or 80 years became instantly possible.. Thanks for stocking Garibaldi biscuits! June 26, 2013
A Visit to Vermont When my husband and I lived in Mass. we drove to a friend of his home in Vt. There house was a showroom for items they were selling, and they had just built a great new barn to serve as their future store. When ever I think of you I am reminded of that interesting trip and wonder if your company started out that way. My son has loved those biscuits for years from when they were sold in grocery stores, but I was delighted to find them in your catalog. He gets them every year and it's his favorite Christmas/birthday gift. December 22, 2014
Hard to find cookie/biscuits I ate these cookies/biscuits as a child and it's nice to have them again. They are not sweet and really good with coffee or tea. December 20, 2014
Fun Treat We are enjoying these Garibaldi Biscuits with coffee as an afternoon treat. I believe I ordered this item about 10 years ago for the first time. I had never seen this item outside of your catalog. December 20, 2014
A piece of my childhood in a biscuit I can remember eating these when I was a young child, when I'd go to my grandmother's house. They were her favorites, and soon became mine. It seems as though it's been years since I've even seen them in stores. But the memories came flooding back when I saw them in your catalog. Thanks so much for offering them! December 19, 2014
Grandmas house My Grandma always had these biscuits. I think the packaging and maybe the company is different. Anyways, opening the package and smelling then tasting them , I was transformed to the lower east side of Detroit and my Grand Parents house. Grandama always made fresh tea and more often then not, we had these. I'm 60 now but stepped into the way back machine and had some tea and biscuits sitting at Grandmas kitchen table ! Thank VCS !!! Like the old days Remember these from many, many years ago. A fond memory. December 6, 2014
Christmas at Grandmothers House My Grandmother ( We called her Dear ) always had bowls of Christmas goodies placed strategically all over her 4 story house. And little goodies at our places at the table. Years later my sisters ( I have 6 ) and I started talking about the yummy flat biscuit cookies we always had at Dear's house. We called them squashed fly biscuits then. My dad every, year bought us Lanz flannel nightgowns from Vermont Country so I started looking there and found the Garibaldi Biscuits. I ordered them for stocking stuffers for my sisters and they were thrilled. They taste as good now as then. I was born in 1946 along with Vermont Country and I still love them just as much.
