Childhood Christmas Memory These Peppermint Sticks are just like the ones that a Great Aunt in Georgia would send to my Great Aunt Ree in North Carolina, every year at Christmas. Aunt Ree taught me to roll an orange around to soften it up, make a slit in the orange to slip the peppermint stick and sip the juice using the peppermint stick as a straw. I now love sharing these peppermint sticks with my family, friends and co-workers at Christmas. Whenever I have one, it brings back Christmas memories that have to be over 50 years old. Marvelous! REAL peppermint sticks! The company that I have bought these wonderful REAL peppermint sticks for years jacked the price through the ceiling AND wanted to charge me $32 just to send them to me. So I was hoping that these would be just as good. Incredibly, they were better. More peppermint flavor, and you can stick them in an orange and pull the juice up through them like I did as a child. Be patient when you do this--it's worth the little wait. December 20, 2012

Just Like My Childhood Memories! When I was little I would visit my grandparents on their rural Georgia farm in the summer and it was a treat to ride into 'town' with them to the general store. Musty smells, creaky wood floor, big barrels of flour and sugar... and right by the old cash register was a big glass jar of these peppermint sticks. We would each get one and let it melt slowly in our mouths on the trip back to the farm. I still try to let them melt slowly, while it brings back those memories of happy, simpler days!
