I was going to save some for my daughter, but..... These candies were too darned good! When I was a teenager in the late 50's, I would go to a big department store in downtown Lincoln, NE and buy a selection of these chocolate coated raspberry and orange jelly treats. They also had orange peel slices that I loved. What a delicious memory! You have brought this back and I'm going to have to order some of the orange peel candies now! Candy caused reaction I was excited as had not tasted this candy since childhood. I opened the orange candy and took a bite, my throat started stinging and I could hardly talk. My daughter tried a piece of the raspberry candy. She didn't have a reaction but I was scared to try another piece or to let my grandchildren try it. We looked at the ingredients and could not tell what caused my reaction. I'm not sure what I had the reaction to but it was scary. I've always had good luck with purchases from your store until now. I will continue to buy things just not candy. February 15, 2013
Memories Growing up in the 1950's... treats were far and in between. Chocolate Dipped Jelly Sticks were one of my favorites. I preferred the orange flavor while my sister liked raspberry. Happy ending after 30 year search When I was 10 or so (30+ years ago), I was visiting my uncle's family who had just returned from the UK. One of their after dinner rituals is to enjoy a mystery piece of candy or chocolate from this huge box. I picked up a piece of chocolate and discovered it has jelly inside. It was the best thing I have ever eaten. Believe it or not, I have been keeping an eye out for something similar ... for the past 30 years. This year I decided to do a mass order for my Xmas goodie bag for work. Of course I had to get something for myself. And guess what I found in the catalog?! Jelly Sticks!! My hands were shaking when I showed it to my wife. Fast forward a few weeks. 11 boxes all arrived, 120 jars of jelly needed to be bagged, and I just popped another Jelly Stick in my mouth.
