Hard Candy (1 lb. Gift Tin)
Lovely and tasty.
My husband got very pleased when he saw these candies in your catalog. He enjoyed them as a child so I got him a box for Christmas.

First Day of Christmas
When my daughter was young we started a tradition of celebrating the 12 days before Christmas with a small gift or candy to take some of the holiday anticipation pressure away. Traditional hard Christmas candy was the first day so it could be enjoyed leading up to Christmas. This 1# tin is perfect size, not too much with all the other treats but a good amount to endulge. It is fresh, crunchy and brightly flavored. The tin design looks lovely displayed throughout the holiday and then works as a perfect small gift container the following year. This also makes a perfect hostess gift.

Nice container... disappointing contents
I ordered this candy expecting "traditional" Christmas candy. The attractive container held exactly two small pieces of ribbon candy, both of the same flavor. The remaining contents were comprised of a couple of varieties of pillows and straws, none of which were filled.
While the candy is certainly edible, I find it to be a rather disappointing example of "traditional" Christmas candy.

making it last
The ribbon candies were always great to try and eat a link at a time. As a child, the fact that I would end up a sticky mess was fine. The assortment brings back very happy memories of family.

Keeping Old Traditions Alive
I have friends who were born and raised in the Vermont and Maine area. Every year I buy them old fashioned candy, and ribbon candy to keep childhood memories alive. This year seeing the package from The Vermont Country Store gave them an extra thrill, as they know your store well. I will be sure that I make this purchase from you folks every year.

This old-fashioned candy has been a wintertime/holiday icon in my family. In my childhood, my parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles would have dishes or tins of this candy mix around their houses for guests and just for munching. The mix of flavors, colors, and shapes is enticing. My favorites have always been the ribbon candies, perhaps because the shape tickled my fancy so much as a young girl. Thank you for offering so many items that bring back warm memories.

A nice romantic touch for the holidays
These candies are little treasures, almost good enough to serve as holiday decorations. I don't like the box as much, but after all, it is the contents that count.

A gift you just can't keep secret
When our oldest daughter was about 4 and money was very tight for our new family we took her shopping and she picked out a tin of these hard candies for her dad. It was a BIG secret and she promised she wouldn't tell. On our way home she kept asking her dad, "Daddy do you like hard candy"? It was so cute and we had to laugh. She didn't tell her secret and she was so proud to give the gift to daddy on Christmas. It's one of those memories you never forget.
