GIVE ME THOSE OLD-TIME CANDIES Being 80+ and counting I can well remember the nearby store where a visit to pick a favorite candy from the showcase of candies was a wonderful stop. I thought that would only be a memory until i saw a Vermont General Store Catalog. Just like going to my grams house... I'm 47 years old and still remember when I was little I used to love to go to my grandma's house. she always had a beautiful Waterford Crystal jar on her coffee table with these candies in it. I would always run straight for the jar. After a weekend vist with "Gram" I would miss her so much. I would put my sweater on the next day and in my pocket would find one of these rasberry candies in my pocket. i wouldnt eat it til I knew we were going back to Grams. Gram passed away in 2006. I miss her so much. I happen to see these in your catalog. my family and friends now go straight to my crystal jar every time they come to visit me. they love these candies. Yum! My father-in-law LOVES these candies and was having a hard time finding them down in Daytona Beach. I shipped him a bag for Christmas and he was thrilled!! Old Memories of Christmases Past These candies were always in our stockings when my brother and I were children, and we loved them. In later years my own children always looked for them in their stockings. So when I discovered that you have them, I immediately ordered them to be sent to my daughter's home, where we all gathered at Christmas. Perhaps it's just nostalgia, but these candies are wonderful to us. They are wrapped beautifully and the soft raspberry center just melts in your mouth. At last! After a decades-long search... When I met my husband back in the 50's he shared his filled-raspberry candies with me. These candies became a holiday tradition with my family. After my husband died in 1981, I found it difficult to find them in local stores. At one time, I found them in an assortment of hard candies. I had a time trying to sort out the raspberries from all the other candies in the bin! This year, when I saw them in the catalog, I ordered them.
