For over 6 centuries, in the south of France, bakers in the town of Aix-en-Provence have been creating a marzipan-like candy called calissons. Molded into traditional diamond shapes, the pale yellow candy is a mixture of candied melon and ground almonds blended into a smooth paste. Once set, the moist, slightly fruity marzipan receives a thin layer of white royal icing. 12 marzipan candies per 5 oz. box.

  • A French tradition for 600 years
  • Made with ground almonds and candied melon
  • Topped with perfectly sweet glaze
  • Traditional diamond shape

Slightly fruity, slightly nutty—these French marzipan candies are "magnifique!"

Delicious, traditional and beautiful These are the most beautiful, delicate treats. Handmade in the South of France for six centuries. The flavor is subtle and absolutely perfect. I purchased a couple of hundred of these for my recent wedding in California, and they were the most wonderful addition to my cake table. Guests couldn't get enough of them! I wish they were still available. I highly recommend them. May 31, 2013
Delicious, subtle flavor I have never had these before nor been to Provence to eat them there - so I don't know how they are supposed to taste. At first I was not sure because I was expecting more of a dry cookie - these are moist. So much so that they stuck to the packaging a bit. But the flavor is delicious. Not too sweet, with lovely flavors combined of almond, citrus and melon. They are very pretty as well. A pricey treat as they are small - 12 count weighs 5 oz. I would buy these again & it would be nice to offer to guests at Easter. This is flavored differently & nowhere near as sweet as a traditional marzipan from Germany - so if you are wanting that you will be disappointed. April 2, 2013
Pretty but not tasty This is not marzipan candy, and not sweet. It is marzipan with some flavoring, but very dry. It is too expensive and dry to use for baking and not very good to eat. December 10, 2012
