Rated 5 out of 5 Christmas Dessert My husband's family always had plum pudding for Christmas dessert. I have my mother in law's recipe but it is complicated and takes a LOT of time. I make my own hard sauce and heat up YOUR delicious plum pudding to replicate what he grew up with. I cannot find this item in a retail grocery any where near me. January 11, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 No iceing in the package My family is Irish and is big on plum pudding. Evrryone enjoyed the dessert, but was very disappointed in the fact that there was no iceing in the package. An obvious oversight on the part of Vermont Country Store. However, on Christmas, there was nothing we could do about this. January 10, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Hard to find, hard to beat Plum pudding, a family Christmas tradition in New York, but not easy to find elsewhere. How good to find it at VT country store. The pudding exceptionally good to eat and brought back fond memories. Plum pudding is great with hard sauce. It is served flaming as in Charles Dickens: "A Christmas Carol" but I think we were too stingy with the brandy that we poured on it to kindle the flame. It went out before we made it to the table. Rated 5 out of 5 by Wow - beyond any expectations We had one at mom's house. It was a natural follow-on to the fruitcake. And everyone loved it. The second came home with us and my wife and I enjoyed it as much as (or maybe more than) the first. We obtained "Clotted Cream" and managed to produce what we considered the authentic XMAS desert. Rated 5 out of 5 by Mrs. Cratchit's Dessert My husband, daughter and I have enjoyed attending Mr. Gerald Charles Dicken's presentation of his great, great grandfather's "Christmas Carol" at the Hershey hotel for many years. This year I wanted to bring Mrs. Cratchit's dessert into our home for Christmas dinner. The plum pudding was moist, delicious with the rich, sweet taste of the glace' cherries, nuts, cider and the brandy topping. It was a little expensive but worth every delicious morsel. Rated 1 out of 5 by What a Disappointment! We were expecting a delicious, moist, flavorful dessert; instead, we got this tiny, dry, crumbly fruitcake. It did not match your description of it at all! We've ordered VCS items before and have been very delighted and satisfied with them. However, this is one of the first edible items we've ordered from the VCS and it was certainly a disappointment, especially considering the price. This experience will make us very hesitant to order any other food items from the Vermont Country Store. January 5, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by As good as homemade! This old fashioned plum pudding was delicious--moist and full of fruit. All I had to do was make my own hard sauce. We 'flambeed' it before serving--much to the delight of the grandchildren. December 31, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by A Christmas treat We wait all year to pick up one of these traditional English plum puddings. They're chock full of nuts & currants. A savory treat. Top it off with some drizzled brandy butter it's a dessert fit for a queen. December 29, 2014
