Rated 5 out of 5 by ...just like you remember from when you were a kid When we were kids, we used to go to a bakery that was some miles away from our rural area. While our parents picked out rolls and cookies or a pie for a special occasion, we were allowed to buy an elephant ear. When I opened this package, I was skepical, fondly remembering the crispy flakiness of old days. Imagine my surprise when I bit into this and experienced the same taste and texture from 50+ years ago! They maintain their freshness for at least two weeks if kept in the original packaging. I know this, because I have been doling myself only 1/2 of an ear or less per day for more than two weeks. Stand over the sink, because the flakes and granulated sugar will fall with each bite. Rated 5 out of 5 by a reminder of childhood I remember eating these pastries as a child in the 1970's and could never find them in any bakeries so I was excited to see them in your catalog. When I first tasted them I was disappointed but then I experimented and discovered that putting them in a 350 degree oven for about 8 to 10 minutes and then letting them cool worked perfectly. They came out crispy and brought back all those memories of childhood. I love these. Please keep offering them in your catalog. September 20, 2014
