Some people knew them as Garibaldis, others simply as raisin biscuits, but whatever you called these long, flat cookie bars, they surely have been missed since they disappeared from supermarket shelves. Crisp in texture, each not-too-sweet biscuit has a hefty helping of dried currants baked right in, which adds that familiar fruity tartness to every bite. And since a single biscuit measures about 7¼"x 2¾", it's perforated so you can divide it into five easy-to-eat sections. Garibaldi biscuits are the perfect complement to tea, coffee, or ice-cold milk. Each 3.5 oz. package contains 2 long Garibaldi biscuits.

  • A hefty helping of dried currants is baked right in
  • Each package contains 2 biscuits
  • Each biscuit can be broken into 5 easy-to-eat sections
  • Set of 12 packages

Find old-fashioned treats that are still as tasty and wholesome as always at The Vermont Country Store. Garibaldi Biscuits are a perfect complement to tea, coffee, or ice-cold milk.

Raisin Biscuits When I was younger, my father and I loved the raisin biscuits made by Sunshine. When I was hungry or my stomach ached, I would eat a few of these with tea or cold milk and felt much better. However, the company stopped making them. The Garibaldi Biscuits from England are the closest to the raisin biscuits from my past but made with currents instead. They are just as delicious. I purchase them by the box full from your store or ask for them as a holiday or birthday gift. June 17, 2015
Garibaldi Biscuits. Yum. While in London last April, a friend and I searched markets and stores for the little Garibaldi biscuits, a flat "cookie" filled with currants. No luck. I am delighted that Vermont Country Store has made them available for we Anglophiles. Thank you. June 15, 2015
Love Garibaldi Biscuits I am 81 years old and have enjoyed these cookies since I was young. My children all love them, so I order them a few times a year to give, or send, to my grandchildren and great-grands. I'm so happy you carry these wonderful (and healthy) cookies. June 11, 2015
nostalgia I have searched for these cookies for quite some time and was delighted to find them. They are exactly the cookies given to us during morning recess in my grammar school many years ago. They still taste wonderful! May 26, 2015
Reprising my youth These "raisin cookies" were one of my favorite treats in the 1950s and 1960s. Then they disappeared from store shelves nationwide, though I sometimes searched in vain for them ... until, delighted, there they were in your catalog. Just recently purchased two more 12-packs -- my wife thinks I overdo this. Now, at age 70, they taste a little different (is it I, or them, that have changed?), but I still overindulge as the years roll away while I munch. May 18, 2015
He liked it, he really liked it... I bought 12 packages of Garibaldi Biscuits as a treat for my husband. Growing up he loved the raisin biscuits from Sunshine Biscuit Company. He really enjoyed them and will probably be enjoying more of them in the future. Thanks for the memories! April 7, 2015
it's back again! There was once a time I remember, being able to find it in the grocery store ... but it disappeared and I wondered that happened to these Raisin Biscuits. I believe it was made by Nabisco ... but then it was no longer on the shelves. Glad to see it back again even under another label. It is very crunchy reminds me of a long while ago, and I love the raisins in the biscuits. Thank you. April 6, 2015
Childhood's Treat Reappears I've eaten these cookies from childhood thru the 60's. Sometime in the late 70's or 80's I went looking for them in the store -- as a treat mid-afternoon while I was on a diet. Couldn't find them anywhere! Then came the internet and eventually I remembered those long loved and lost raisin cookies (yes, I know they are currants, but I always thought of them as raisins). Finally found them at the Vermont Country store... and here we are. They're great for a quick snack after my class, on my way home, so I'm not tempted to stop at a fast (and fattening) food place.
