Great cake! This cake was delicious and we'll be getting another one next year once its available again. We heated it up a little and put vanilla ice cream over it, yum! And this cake goes a long way, you only need a small slice since its chock full of fruit and nuts. February 6, 2013
I could use some more brandy I have been looking for fruit cake that comes close to our fruit cake back home. After getting disappointed with an online order, I stopped looking for a while; then tried what Vermont CS has to offer. A search comes up with Vermont Harvest Cake. My order arrived and I was happily surprised to find it close to the fruit cake I was used to. The only thing a bit short was the brandy. I could hardly taste it in the one that arrived. Maybe you can give us the option to choose mild, medium, or strong for brandy. Then it will be more to our liking. Perhaps? January 21, 2013
Wonderful cake This cake is great and reminds me of wedding cakes from England. Thank you for making it available. January 17, 2013
Best Ever...... I love, love, love this fruitcake!!!! In prior years I have purchased more that one, because I ate the first one too quickly (all by myself). This year because I made my bourbon pecan cake (fruitcake), I did not order one for the family. I did, however, purchase one for a dear friend who loves fruitcake. She told me the only problem with this one is that it was just too small. She also confessed to have eaten it all herself and finished it prior to Christmas. I see that they are on sale so I will be ordering one since my fruitcake is gone thanks to lots of help from holiday company! January 8, 2013
My Granny's favorite!! 15 years ago I found out my Granny loved fruit cake. So, for her birthday on December 20th 1997, I ordered the VCS exclusive harvest cake. And have ordered every year since, and she loves it. Looks forward to it every year and doesn't share a crumb. A few years back I couldn't find the harvest cake at VCS, so I ordered what they had offered as a replacement. It was OK, but nothing like the Vermont Harvest cake. Granny is 93 this year..... I was overjoyed to see that the harvest cake was back and so was she. Thank you so much for bringing back this item, it meant a lot to her and the world to me. Thanks again. Sincerely, Jarrod January 3, 2013
This has it all.....0K...we add brandy. As a crazed fruitcake lover I rarely buy it (secret meaning=I always use [King Arthur] mix and load on more fruit and nuts and brandy than are absolutely required) but love yours as well, which makes me relax at holiday times without having to mix or turn on the oven. It's also perfectly acceptable in other seasons, inclulding summer. Great with various fruit sherbets, aka sorbets. Betty Lou Marple January 2, 2013

What Our Customers Are Saying about Our Vermont Harvest Cake …

"I hate to say this, as it's like revealing to the world a favourite secluded spot, but this has to be one of the best fruitcakes I have ever tasted. It is exceptionally moist, superbly flavorful -- with real, not candied, fruit and nuts. I hope they've made a lot of these, so that I can purchase some more as gifts for family and friends for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Anyone who's ever turned up their nose at a fruitcake won't have a clue at what they are missing if they don't try one of these Vermont Harvest cakes. I guarantee you'll break out into a huge "om om good" smile when you take your first bite. Scrumptious!" - Gene, Woodbine, MD
