These 4-bite shortbread tarts are filled to the brim with plenty of apples, currants, sultanas, candied citrus peels, and an array of rich, warm spices. Just before they're baked, they're topped off with a generous "tot" or "shot" of world-famous 12-year Glenfiddich® single-malt Scotch whiskey. A "tot" is a measure of alcohol created by the British Royal Navy to ration out rum to sailors and adds about an ounce of holiday cheer to each tempting tart. Like mini-mincemeat pies, they're topped with a layer of shortbread crust and a sprinkle of sparkly bakers’ sugar. It's the way the bakers at Walker's have been making these tarts in the Highland village of Speyside Aberlour since 1898. When something has been this good for so long...why fuss with perfection?

Rated 5 out of 5 by Really Great Tarts This product was very delicious and I use the word, "was" because they are all gone. I ate each and every one of them. The pastry was flaky and light and the mincemeat was just spicy enough to be absolutely delicious. In my baking days I always made Mince pies for Thanksgiving and my Dad and I always waited for Saturday Midnight so that we could enjoy another piece of Mince pie. You see, our religious forbade us from eating meat on Friday. Boy, did we indulge on Saturday, enjoying every bite. This tart reminded me of those "Good Old Days". December 31, 2014
