Ours, made to perfection in Savannah, Georgia at a local confectionary, is chock-full of bananas, pineapple, and pecans and slathered with rich cream cheese icing. The result, an incredibly moist layer cake that treats you to an irresistible blend of sweet, spice, and tanginess with every mouthful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Birthday cake This cake was ordered for a birthday celebration. I had heard of this cake before but never tasted one. It was delivered intact, had to be thawed, but after that it was just as expected. Everyone enjoyed the cake and asked where it was bought. They were surprised it was mail order. The cake tasted fresh, moist and the icing was perfect. Once again Vermont Country Store delivered the goods. September 28, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by A precious hummingbird! This is Tibby's mom again. When I wrote about our Easter Monday dinner a few days ago, I forgot to mention the hummingbird cake. What a treat that was - a perfect ending to our meal! The flavors and texture were excellent and the icing was perfect! We felt rather extravagant buying a cake when we could make one so easily, but everyone loved it and "oohed and aahed" about every bite! Your little hummingbird sure knows how to make a cake! Rated 4 out of 5 by Very tasty with delicious creamy filling & yummee nuts This cake is VERY good. The creamy filling is to die for and the crunchy nuts on top really make it. Only thing is it is a bit expensive but you get a lot of cake for your dollar. Suggest making a half size cake for less cost? March 16, 2015
