HARD-TO-FIND KNEE SOCKS I have a very difficult time finding just plain color cable knit knee socks. In fact, Vermont Country Store is the ONLY place I can find them any more. I usually buy 4 pair, different colors, every year because I wear them constantly throughout the winter months and love them. They're comfortable and durable. Thank you for continuing to carry them at your store! February 18, 2013
Finally! Warm, dry feet! My legs and feet were always cold and then I remembered where I had found my old Merino Wool socks! I went online and found them again at Vermont Country Store! I also found some of those wonderful old drip candles we loved in our teens and got some for my grown-up children to put in the beautiful cobalt wine bottles we found at Thanksgiving! Thank you so much for keeping these things available to us! January 12, 2013
Disappointing Purchase I was totally disappointed in the 6 pairs I purchased. Since I'm retired, I can't afford to waste my money but I did. I can only wear them 2x before they lose all elastic in the top to stay up and they feel scratchy. Two pair are thrown away and the others will soon follow. They also seem under sized and don't have much stretch in the entire sock. I have narrow feet and a small calf so socks normally run large. This is not typical for Vermont Country Store quality. bring back the old ones! I have been buying these socks for years and they have always been perfect. Yes, the length changes year to year and matching up old and new sock mixes after washing has become one the the challenges on laundry day. But the socks themselves have always been great and essential here in Minnesota in the fall, winter, and early spring. This year for the very first time they keep falling down as I walk. I keep thinking that I musy have an old pair on that have lost their stretch. When I check at night, it is always a brand new pair that I am wearing. Please bring back the old ones or find a new source for ones that can stay up. This is the only source I have found and I hate to have to look further. December 17, 2012
Falling down Loved the socks out of the box but after wearing them once and washing they don't stay up for very long. They are nice and heavy quality but not impressed after spending good money on them. December 7, 2012
Good material I purchased these thinking that they would be thicker than those I purchased elswhere, because of the information about them, they are the exact pair of socks I purchased at another store around our area, and I purchased three pairs at other stores for one pair here. They are the exact cable and material, the same length. I will keep them but will not order more here because of their price. December 5, 2012
Love them but disappointed I have been purchasing these cable knee socks for 10 plus years, I love them so much and this style is very hard to find. They have been a staple of mine every fall and winter. Unfortunately the past couple of years they became way shorter, even the plus size. I can hold up an older pair next to the new ones and they are at least 2 inches shorter. I'm only 5'5" and they don't even come up to my knees. My old pair I can even fold them at the top and they're still plenty long. I wish they would bring back the longer style. The plain wool knee socks are still long but I really adore and prefer the cable pattern. I still love how warm and comfortable they are but I will be looking elsewhere for true cable knee socks. Perfect for winter I purchased these in brown and black regular fit. I considered getting the larger fitting ones as I have bunions, but the regular fit works fine for me. I mostly got these for wearing under dress pants to church. They are really warm, do not itch and my feet do not seem to sweat in these either. I wash them in the machine and air dry them so they won't shrink. Easy care really. Will get alot of use from them. October 30, 2012

What Our Customers Are Saying about Our Cable-Knit Merino Socks …

"These are the most comfortable and durable knee socks I have ever owned. I had bought three pairs about two years ago, and after constant washing and wearing, they have not worn out at all. I just love them!" - Robin, Springfield, MA

"I purchased two pairs of these socks a few years ago, and they are the best. It is difficult to find good-quality knee socks these days, and I was happy to find these here. I love the wool for warmth, as my feet are often the first things to get cold and make me cold all over. I wear them winter after winter. I'm happy to see that they are still available because I want to purchase more." - Laura Mirmino-Jones, Cromwell, CT
