4 Savory Pasties is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just as flavorable but less messy than a good old pot pie I must say the Pasties basically did live up to the catalog advertisement. One pasty was enough for me with a very small salad. The pie crust was definitely flaky, flavorful, as well as very filling. This is one type of meal that can NOT be microwaved but must be baked, it is worth the effort. However, there were a couple CONS I feel I must mention. 1) The Mfr needs to increase the quantity of the vegetables they're using for the particular type of pasty. The increase doesn't have to be much but there needs to be an increase and/or an addition of another type of vegetable. 2) The catalog states it comes freshly baked to your door. I'm sorry to say, that's not true. At least my packages weren't freshly baked. Oh they may have freshly been baked (say 30 days prior), but they were also frozen with a "must be sold by date" stamped on it. I believe The VCS needs to go back to Mfr to get some clarification as well as make some corrections on their catalog(s). As I'm thinking back, this particular description reminds of the 3 layer Orange Marmalade cake VCS sold last summer, it seems like the description read almost word for word the same (how it would be freshly bake and rushed to your door). Now that cake was freshly made and delivered.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pub night at home We decided to have "Pub Night" on New Year's Eve in our house. We ordered the British style meat pies for dinner, and had the Jameson mincemeat pies for desert. All with a good cold pint, it was a flashback to the British and Irish pubs that we have visited!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I LOVE PASTIES I was raised in "pasties" country in the UP of Michigan. They are a wonderful reminder of growing up there amongst the beauty of the trees and water and the mounds and mounds of snow. Pasties generate wonderful odors. I could always smell them cooking a block away from home. They are most delicious in every way: warm, hearty, tasty, comforting, filling and scrumptious. The only other meal that even comes closed to them is the Thanksgiving turkey. And you can even make pasties with it! Yum-m-m!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Pasties are a delight to eat WHEN one can find them...Looking through the VCS catalog brought our attention to these and we ordered them...YUMMMMMMMMMMMMM....Almost tempted to seek work in a mine so I could have them everyday....SO good. Will be ordering more!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This produce was lacking. I was so disappointed in the quality of this product, the pork was almost non-existent. The pastry was fair but I don't know how else to describe the content of the pastry.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good but not up to my expectations I really thought with bacon in it it would at least have some bacon flavor. It was filled with good stuff and was filling but not as tasty as I would have liked. I admit it could just be me or perhaps being a British recipe it was suppose to be a bit bland. I loved the idea though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from cornish pasties being of cornish ancestry and having been to devon and cornwall often, i was hungry to try yours. while not totally the same, they were good. btw, you may have wondered how lands end, the merchant, got its name. that particular area of wisconsin (sorry) was settled by cornish tin miners who kept the traditions, at least as far as food. when i went there, i came home with pasties and also saffron cake, which is also a cornish tradition. wish you could get some, but the taste is not for everyone

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Tasteless The crust was very flakey ad almost melted in your mouth. The filling is another story, bland and flavorless The crust to filling ratio is off. There is not enough filling for the crust. The vegetables are cooked well and the meat is tender. It would be nice if they were better seasoned. But, perhaps the pasties in England was equally as bland.
