my husband and i both had one as children. we bought one for our son to help him tell time. along came the grandchildren and we decided they could use one to go along with the watches we got them for christmas. it was a little difficult to find watches that were not digital.finally found 2. they started to play with the clock. it was so cool to see them play with something that we all had.

My son is 42 yrs.old and it was his favorite toy. It is one of the toys that I move with us 13 times. Now my 5 grandchildren are still enjoying the delightful song. I'm buying this for my youngest grandson for his 1st birthday.

My 49 year old son had one of these (only in wood) when he was just a toddler...I have fond memories of him carrying it around the house, occasionally handing it to me to wind it up for him :-)

Purchased the Music Box Teaching Clock as a gift for my 2 year old grandson for Christmas. Was with him when he opened it and he's been carrying it around ever since, was so glad to see that a 40+ year old toy was still a hit with a 2 year old.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Cecil A Toy from my past, gifts for the present!
The Music Box Teaching Clock was a toy that my baby brother had back in the late 60's. My children played with it, enjoying the music and the learning to tell time when they were babies and toddlers in the 80's. Now I have grandchildren who are STILL listening to and learning from the same clock. My 15 month old granddaughter and 4 month old grandson both love my old clock! Thought is a great idea to purchase one for each of them to have in their own homes for Christmas this year. Was thrilled to find the same clock at The Vermont Country Store. Thanks for carrying such a great toy and teaching tool. Great for all ages from infant to toddler to pre school! The clock is a classic toy that never will go out of style here in our family. I hope my grandchildren pass there clocks on to their children in the future. Thanks for a great product!

When I was a kid I had this exact clock toy. It is a very well made replica, and a neat way to share some "toy history" with today's kids.

What Our Customers Are Saying about Our Music Box Teaching Clock …
"My son is 40 and I bought this for him when he was tiny. We loved the song and used to sing it all the time. Now it is yellowed, and plays the song slowly, but it still makes me happy to hear it." - Kathy Peil, Cloquet, MN
"I have an original 1968 "Music Box Teaching Clock" that we bought for our first child. To this day it's still working properly and looks good. It has been passed down from our four children to our six grandchildren. This is a great teaching tool and I highly recommed this product." - Maria Guerrero, Chino, CA
"This was one of my favorite toys as a little girl, and the song was soothing to me. Now I am buying this for my grandson." - Melodie Fitts, Laconia, NH
"My son, at age 2, had cancer (27 years ago) and lived for four months in a hospital. This was the one toy he never let out of his sight. When he got to the point that he was allowed out of the hospital for weekend visits, the clock came home with him, even though it was the hospital's. I recently came upon one and immediately bought it for my grandaughter. Now I find all the fun toys in your catalog that my kids enjoyed back then. Thanks!" - Sue Eckhoff
