Badger Shaving Brushes
A lifetime of shaving
About the time I started shaving daily, maybe 1958, I was working in a family-owned drugstore. When I started looking at electric shavers, the owner-pharmacist suggested using a brush and mug. He said I would never have an acne problem if I did. Well, whether that was the reason or not, I didn't have an acne problem. And I enjoyed the clean feeling of my morning shave. I used an Old Spice mug and brush. Then years later I bought a Country Store badger bristle brush, and I loved it more than whatever bristle the old brush had. When Old Spice quit making soap, I was relieved to learn that the Country Store soap fit the mug just fine. Now its time for a new brush, although the old one goes in my travel kit--it hasn't lost all that many bristles over the decades, but what the heck--a new one sounds fun. I can be sure that if you try it you'll love it.

Love the base holder, as much as the brush
I bought this for my Dad when I saw him trying to glue his old one together with gorilla glue. I later realized it had been my grandfathers and he hadn't been using it long. I also bought the soaps that Dad puts in my grandfathers shaving cup. He was recently in the hospital and couldn't find his shave kit when he got home, so I gave him an early Fathers Day gift. He loved it!!

My former shaving brush was old. I got this one to replace it. I found its bristles very soft and I like the holder to dry it after a shave.

I found it at VCS.
A badger bristle shaving brush was impossible to find. Been looking for some time. Husband kept asking, "Have you found one for me yet?" Huzzah! The Vermont Country Store catalog arrived and there it was. Husband is happy, and I'm happy as I found some other items we "needed".

I always wanted one of these. My grandfather used one in Ireland exclusively. Works great.

This product does have great features
I remember long ago my granddad had a brush similar to this one. I would watch him as he would put a little water into this bowl with soap in it and use the brush to work up a lather, it was very cool to watch as he would brush the lather onto his face. My husband had asked my last year if I had ever seen a brush like the one my granddad used and I said yes, but hadn't seen one since until I happen to receive one of your catalogues in the mail, started flipping through it and saw this brush. My husband was ecstatic when he opened this as his Christmas gift, wanted to know where I found it. I was very excited also.

I feel like a natural ma-an! (Sorry, Aretha.)
I've thrown my canned shaving cream, away! Vermont County Store came through, again! I purchased the pure bristle brush, ceramic bowl, and three round soap bars. Wow! What have I been missing for forty years! Love the hot lather and comfort of a safety razor. Clean up is so easy. Makes you feel "macho in the morning"!

My husband shaves the old fashioned way and loves your quality brushes.
You have a unique store where I can find things no one else has. I am 89 years old and like a lot of the old-fashioned things.
I still do things the old-fashioned way such as make my own preserves, jellies, pickles, etc. It is nice to be able to find things I use such as a hot water bottle/syringe,
shaving soap, hair nets, etc.
