Santa Claus Remembers Santa comes to every house, young and old, that is what we all believe in our family in hanging this Santa face each Christmas season. We are blessed with nine grandchildren and they all have fallen in love with this face that my husband and I hang every Christmas season. We acquired this particular Santa from my in-laws and is an original from the 1950's. Our children and grandchildren just love this when we hang him up in the spotlight of our home, can't resist touching his beard like something magical was going to happen to them on Christmas Eve! We all get together every Christmas Eve for the last 14 years and have such a wonderful get together, especially when the kids see Santa and touch his beard! This year we are especially blessed with the presence of our son, returning from his third tour in Afghanistan and our oldest grandchild on leave from the Navy, We are so blessed to have the family together this year and now more plays on Santa will occur! When we hang him each year...more memories are created. November 20, 2012
Christmas in 1951 When I was 2 years old, a truly wonderful couple took me to raise. My very first memory of Christmas was this BIG Santa face in the window in our living room. Of course, being a toddler this Santa face seemed even larger. We did display this Santa face for many Christmases but, no one at my house saved this magnificent decoration....I have wanted one for years; now I have one from The Vermont Country Store and it's just as magnificent as the one when I was a little girl. Who's memory is it? I am a baby boomer, so the little felt elves, caroler candles, and many of the holiday items featured here bring back such great memories. My favorite is the Light Up Santa Face. Every Christmas my mom would put Santa right by our front door & it was the first thing you'd see when you pulled up in our driveway. Over the years, Santa would need a little touch up his nose & cheeks due to the exposure from the elements. Unfortunately, like many items from that Era, they wore out. Even my husband remembered it from our dating days! How excited I was to see it in your catalog. So much in fact I contacted my sister-in-law to purchase it for my younger brother for Christmas. I could hardly contain myself as I waited for Christmas Day, anxious to see my brother's face & recall all the memories of Christmas past when he opened it. Turns out all of my anticipation was for naught. Not only did my brother not remember Santa, he couldn't even recall his place of honor by the front door! We all had a wonderful laugh over it, & he continues the family tradition of Santa at the door. One word of caution; not everyone's memories are the same. While recollections may be different, sharing memories is what keeps traditions passing from one generation to the next. November 6, 2012
Santa has come to town This Santa face is just like the one my Mom had in the 50's!! This to me is just soooooo Christmas spirit!! I have this lighted Santa face now, thank you Vermont Country Store for bringing this back. I always put this Santa up first as I decorate for the holidays. November 6, 2012
Brooklyn Holiday Memories Growing up as a young girl in Brooklyn, New York, my favorite Holiday was Christmas........even though I'm Jewish! My surrounding neighborhood was a wonderful melting pot of mostly Italian and Jewish families. What ever kind of home you visited you never realized a difference since the core of all the families were God based, warm and very loving. Every Christmas, there was one home that I counted the days until my Mom took me for a visit. This particular home was owned by a wonderful Italian family who's Father was a toy maker. The home had a large front yard and he filled it with all sorts of Christmas attractions, but scaled down to doll size. I clearly remember a working roller-coaster , Ferris wheel, merry go round, whip it ride and many more filled with happy dolls all being led by Santa. Each year this brilliant man would add another ride. Holiday music coming from the home would add such a feeling of joy. When you thought you possibly could not be happier, out the toy maker would come, dressed like Santa handing out candy canes to all the children. Each time I look through my Vermont Catalog at the Holiday times, I see this Light up Santa and I'm once again that little girl from Brooklyn, who's happy heart is not Jewish, Christian, Italian or Polish......just Happy ! "My grandmother had this very same Santa face hanging on the front door of her farmhouse in Groton, Mass., every year I was growing up. When I saw it in your catalog a few years ago I almost couldn't believe my eyes! Now the very same Santa Gram had hangs on our front door each Christmas! It brings back wonderful memories every time I look at it. Thank you so much! Sincerely, Joelyn Livingston, Westford, Mass."

"Putting up this light-up Santa face was the start of the Christmas season to come as a child. Thank you for bringing him back for my grandchildren to enjoy!" - Julie, Abrams, WI

"My husband came home with an original one of these from a Rexall drug store in Tulsa, OK, years ago. My 2 grown daughters have always felt the holidays didn't really start until plastic Santa was up in our house. I was thrilled that I could find another for them; The Vermont Country store never quits finding the great new and the best of the old things around!"-Patricia Martin, Bloomington, IN

"All my young life my grandfather would display this Santa face on his front porch. When I found it in your catalog I even recalled the way we'd unwrap or re-wrap at the end of the holiday. I plan to buy several for each of my brothers and sister. Thanks for the memories!"-Lynda Hyer, Daphne, AL

"Christmas has just passed! I just stored away the Santa face. This was the first Christmas with him in our home. When I was growing up, my mom had a Santa just like this one hanging on our front door. My parents have passed on, but this past Christmas they seemed even closed than normal. Every time I looked at him, I was reminded of such special times in my life. I would love to have one even larger than this one. Thanks so much!"-Debbie Moss, Paducah, KY

"We got this in the mail and hung it on the wall, and I have not stopped looking at this sweet face. We expected some flimsy wall hanging and got a solid built product. We couldn't be happier. The picture in the catalog doesn't do him justice. Everyone who sees him falls in love. Thanks for such a good addition to our Christmas." - Kathy Gunderson, Jacksonville, FL
