I didn't even know this was still made until I saw it. I've ordered other hard to find food, items & candy from the Vermont Country Store & never can find fault. This candy takes me way back to the early 60's when I was in elementary school. My grandfather "Da" use to buy it. So good but it's gone before you know it. That was the only issue I had was the expense for what use to be 'penny' candy. Loved the Necco wafers & Sugar Babies. Great to bring back memories & tastes better than I remembered!! Thanks for the memories.

This was a wonderful crunchy candies with a molasses flavor. The center is lighter but crespy easy to eat and the outer section is harder and crunchy.
I wish I had ordered more because I noticed they are not available at this time.
Hope they come back soon, I love this candy.

Molasses Puff Candy was one of my mom's favorite snacks when we were young. I remember my mom always buying this candy when we stopped at unique shops while traveling the country roads in northwest New Jersey. I always loved the way it melted in my mouth. I hadn't seen, or tasted it, in decades, and was delighted to find it in your catalogue. It was a great surprise treat included in our Christmas gift to my sister, and introducing it to my husband and grandson! Sweet memories.

Had this candy as a child and was very fond of it. I ordered it naked w/o the chocolate. Probably would suggest to order it enrobed in chocolate though. It is also called sponge candy or seafoam in the north east. A chunk of heaven.

When I was young, I would buy this Old Fashioned Puff Candy at least once a week. It was my favorite thing! I'd been trying to find out for years if it still existed. Finally, I came across your site and purchased the candy. It was just as wonderful as I remembered. I gave some to my sister and brother and they were so surprised. Turns out it was their favorite too! Keep making it! We love it!

We used to call this sponge candy, it is sooo good and tastes very much like the candy I enjoyed in the 70's. Trust me it is worth a try, it has a molasses taste. I have a recipe for this candy but it is such a bother to make purchasing it is so much easier.

As a young child, our family often had sponge candy for a treat. As a retired grandmother, I have reconnected with this favorite from my childhood. It is as good as I remembered.
Thank you for the Sweet Memories!
