Rib Cord Bedspread
I dislike ironing
I got the sage and color was true to the picture. The fabric is very lightweight, not as thin as a sheet but not as heavy as ones I bought years ago. Ribs are just visible. Size (twin) is fine. I washed it in warm water and dried it on delicate as the instructions call for. I removed it promptly, but it came out wrinkled. It definitely needs ironing. That is why I would not recommend it. Ironing the twin will be sort of OK, but I would hate to think of doing a full or queen size.

barely see the ribcord and very thin
I usually do not mind paying the price for the quality items in your store. I have been pleased with tableclothes, night shirts, and other house hold items. But these bedspreads were a big dissappointment to me. Way too thin, and the ribcord is not even there. I have to say this is the first product I have purchased from you that I was not pleased with. I am not one to deal with sending back.

This is great. Nice quality just what I expected and wanted. This reminds me of the bedspreads we had on our bed when we were growing up... Love it!

Three years ago I bought a queen size.I have two small dogs that sleep on the bed and under the covers. The bedspread is the first one that has lasted over a year. The bedspread looks like new and I wash it at least once a week or more and it cleans up and looks like new.I plan on buying a king size bed and was looking for a king size bedspread but Vermont Country Store does not have it in stock at this time.I hope that they will be getting in king size soon.King size will also fit on a Queen bed.

I was expecting the quality and thickness of the bedspreads we used to buy for freshman college students. This spread is thin and lightweight, will work for summer only.

Old-Time Quality and Value
When I was a kid 50+ years ago, I had a rib cord bedspread. In the house where we vacation in Maine each summer, we use rib cord bedspreads. I searched locally and could not find any. We have been using woven bedspreads for years, but our dogs' nails tend to pick them badly. When this spread arrived, I was pleased to find that it was exactly the right color for our decor, and that it was amply-sized to fit our queen bed with enough to draw over two layers of pillows, leaving enough to drape evenly all around the bed. PLUS, it is impervious to our Border Collie's nails as she frolics atop the bed. I wish it was just a tad heavier, but I'm well-satisfied with the quality.
Driving home from Maine through Vermont a couple of years ago, we drove by VCS but did not have time to stop. We will make it a point to stop next time.

Rib Cord Cotton Bedspread
The bedspread was described on the webpage as being just like the ones we had as kids. Although the new product may be stronger or sturdier or last longer (I can't yet tell if that is the case), it feels thinner and the cords are only apparent if you look closely. It is not as soft as the old ones. You might compare the feel to the difference between denim and corduroy--you know the denim will last longer, but the corduroy is comfier. As to the experience of dealing with this website, it was just fine. Thanks.

I searched the internet to find an all cotton bedspread that wasn't too heavy or too light. I purchased this bedspread and am extremely pleased. I have a queen size bed but I'm one of those finicky people who don't like bed covers to touch the floor, so I purchased the full size one and it's perfect. It reaches the top of the bed skirt on the sides with plenty coverage at the head and foot of the bed, just the way I like it. I purchased the sage color and it is exactly as it looks online. As a matter of fact, I liked it so much I bought a second one! Thank you Vermont Country Store!
