“I'm very satisfied, I've never been disappointed with whatever I have purchased. I am constantly telling my friends about Vermont Country Store. All the oldies but goodies from malted milk balls to grandma's breadbox.” — Thelma McNeil, Haverhill, MA
“When I was a kid back in the 1940s, my aunt did volunteer work at the Christian Science Book Store in our Illinois town. She would tell me if I was quiet when people came in to read she would buy me some Horlicks malted milk tablets. I liked them so much that I continued buying them when I got married. Then all of a sudden they weren't on the store shelves anymore. As the years went by I never forgot them so I decided to write and ask you to look for and possibly bring them back. Then one day when I got your catalog there they were. Thanks for brining wonderful things from the past back to the present.” — Joan Wylie, Mascoutah, IL
“Dear Vermont Country Store, I am thrilled, and delighted that you are selling Horlicks Malted Food Drink again!! It is the best and I have missed not being able to buy it. Thanks for bringing it back.” — Faye E. Poeschl, Loveland, CO
“Dear Mr. Orton, Today I received your latest catalog and leafed through it. When I got to the last page and saw the ad for Horlicks Tablets I had to tell you the memory it brought back. My husband and I were married in 1934 and my husband was a coach of all sports in a newly developing high school. He saw and heard the ads for Horlicks in papers and on the radio, and they were asking for stories of their use and success. My husband started giving all the basketball boys the tablets and wrote the company how much better they played. Well—His story was on the 6 o'clock news—national—through Horlicks ad on the radio. We listened to the story bursting with pride, but not for long! Our team had a game that same evening in a neighboring town. We were there on the basketball court and the sports announcer called out each boy's name and position he played. Then it was time for the home team to come out on the floor. As each boy's name was called, he came out carrying a big box of Wheaties for champions! What a laugh and big hug for each other the coaches had and of course newspaper and radio stories!” — Betty Thornburg, Clearwater, FL
“I grew up in Racine, Wisconsin right across from the Horlick's factory. I even graduated from Wm. Horlick High School, about 3 blocks away from the original factory in Racine, Wisconsin. I remember very fond memories of Horlick's Malted Milk products. My mother used to buy the malted milk balls in a large jar, about the size of a pickle jar. Then the factory closed many, many years ago and I thought I lost that wonderful treat forever until finding them here. Thank you for bringing back my fond memories!” — Steve, Lansing
“Since I was a child growing up, my mother introduced me to Horlick's malted milk. I simply loved it with a passion. I can remember sneaking a teaspoonful of the malt just to enjoy the flavor. I was addicted. Later, came along the tablets which I introduced to my own children. They, too, became addicted. We are so glad they are still available today!” — Lynn Rhoades, Naples, FL
“Along with her wallet, Chanel lipstick, and lace handkerchief, my southern belle grandmother's "pocketbook" always contained a little bottle of Horlick's Tablets. She was a smart lady and knew that they could quiet a hungry little boy or girl. As an adult, I still get a little shaky when I don't eat on time. Horlick's Tablets give me an extra 30 minutes to an hour when I don't have the time or the opportunity to eat.” — Cooper Jones, Athens, GA
“When my three children were small, I kept a bottle of Horlicks on the dashboard. The children shared the responsibility of doling out one malted milk tablet each hour to each of us. We never had to stop for snacks between meals, thanks to good old Horlicks.” — Donna Davis, Berkeley, CA
“I grew up in the 60s in Southern California. I remember my mom having a jar of Horlicks. Through the years I have searched for them and mostly people looked at me like I was crazy. Last night I woke up in the middle of the night and thought I have not searched on the internet for the tablets in years. I tried it and Voila! here they are. I can't wait to try them again and share with my family and friends.” — Francine Tieperman, Lufkin, TX
“Around 1948 a friend bought a Navy surplus PT to convert it for civilian use. I was offered a job scraping paint on the boat. One day while I was taking a break I looked in one of the boat lockers and found an olive drab tall can filled with Horlick malt tablets. They turned out still edible and I had a field day stuffing myself with those delicious candies. Then, I found this site and there was an ad offering the product. Wow! Wonders never cease.” — jerry mayeux, jennings, LA
“I read about these in the paper today and they brought memories of when I was young. Every Christmas, our parents would place a jar of these in our stockings. We all loved them and wished that we could have them more often. I then went on the Internet to see if anyone still sold them and found you. Now I can have them anytime I want.” — Pauline Morelli, Providence, RI
